What is Digitek®?
Digitek® is the brand name for Digoxin tablets, USP 0.125 mg and 0.25 mg, prescribed for patients with heart problems. These tablets are also known as Digitalis, Cardoxin, Lanoxin, and Lanoxicaps.
Why is Digitek® prescribed for treating heart problems?
The drug Digoxin improves the strength and efficiency of the heart, which leads to better circulation of blood and reduction of uncomfortable swelling, which is quite common in people with congestive heart failure. Digoxin also helps the heart to beat more strongly and regularly. The drug is typically prescribed along with a water pill to relieve swelling and an ACE inhibitor to improve blood circulation.
What are the side effects of the intake of the drug?
Side effects can include blurred vision, apathy, change in heartbeat, loss of appetite, confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, vomiting, weakness, nausea, yellow vision, lower stomach pain or low blood pressure. Side effects cannot be anticipated. However, if you develop any complications inform your doctor as soon as possible.

Has Digitek® been recalled in any other countries?
No. The recall is only in the United States.
